Wk 7 Game of the week: Saints 21 at 49ers 56
Posted by: 49ers on 2010-01-31

Fireworks in San Francisco with 2 teams that showed explosives offenses, especially in the first half with 42 points scored in the second qrt, 21 for each team.

"A game like this could have deserved a fan appreciation day and I had the half idea it was the time for to call it reading the statistic of the Saints when we started practicing for this game - said Steve Niners in the post game - A team capable to join in San Francisco with stats so well balanced shows to be a great team and infact, Saints played a very good football showing an high level of skills in both side of the ball and I have appreciated their high level of timing and defensive keys readings with their offense. A very beautiful gameof football also for our fans."

1st qrt:
The home team offense started the game showing their usual solid way to move the ball taking advantage from every single call and going to score 2 times; the first time with FB Tamme from a goal line formation from 1 yardline after a solid opening drive and the second with a pass.
The defense stopped 2 times the Sain's offense allowing so to the 49ers to open the game with a 14-0 lead.

2nd qrt:
The Saints, moving well the ball with running game, scored their first TD of the game showing a great timing about short passes going working with drag, hook and slant in patterns behind the defensive line and showing a quick defensive key readings.
As answer, Smith threw a deep pass to Nayls that surprised Saints defense, probably because until that moment, from that formation, they always used runs.
After a beaufiful and long offensive drive for the away team that made the score on 14-7 49ers lead, with 1 play home team was again leading by 21-7 stopping Saint's happiness.
Both teams score still more 2 times each showing a very good offense for the Saints that was making every effort for to stay in the game, and an explosive 49ers offense that seemed simply unstopable at every possession of the ball.
The best moment of the game is been when Smith was on the bench injuried and 49ers offense showed to play exactly at the same high level as with their starter QB with Palmer that drove down the field the offense going to the house with a 36 yard TD run with Gore after he completed 4 passes on 5 att showing that also having the second QB into the field didn't changed nothing for the 49ers.
To the half time, also if Saints are been able to made a little record scoring 21 points in 1 qrt here in San FRancisco, the score was 35-21, 49ers lead.

3rd qrt:
Supposing the defense started understanding as to stop Saint's offense, 49ers played like in the half time, going to score each offensive possession and closing the game with Davis that after a lucky catch that forced him to jump having a good man to man coverage very close to him, leading by 21 points making the score on 42-21, the game was over.
After that, Gore scored again after a nice run and the qrt ended 49-21, 49ers lead.

4rt qrt:
Just one TD for the 49ers for the final score of the game of the week of 56-21 49ers lead.

Next week 49ers rest with the bye week.

A very good game Ramhorn, as i told you in the post game, I'm happy to have you in BBC.
This was our first game together and it's been a very nice visit ticket for you, showing a so high level of skills.
I'm pretty sure you will made very well here and I hope to play a re match soon without to wait to play in the play off also if I think you will run for the post season, playing so well.
Looking 49ers poll starting the season seems that a lot of peoples don't believe we will reach again the last NFC spot for the post season but at the moment, at the half way of the season, we are still running for our goal.
Thanks you for the game and good luck to you for the rest of the season.
Steve.
