Patriots play home-team heroes beating the Packers 28-27 in Vegas Bowl 2010

Vegas Bowl was called as one owner put it "over-hyped" The match-up just might as well been. Neither of these two teams have proven to be a constant upper escelon team. This game was personal. Only the second time these long time buds have played an official, non nip, non preseason game.
The game itself, fulfulled every single ounce of hype put into it. Both teams played well enough to win, however only one could call himself the winner of Vegas Bowl. The Patriots overcame a 13 point second half deficet to knock off mr confident. The way the Packers played today, i can see where the confidence comes from. 3rd played a solid game and controlled the tempo, until :10 seconds to play when John David Booty found rookie Steven Backer on a slant just passed the goalline. That play would cap off a 92 yard drive that started on a contreversial fumble by Ryan Grant forced by Darius Butler. Third and I have agreed on one thing since joining the BBC, more times than not, getting beat by 21 beats getting beat by 1, Heartbreaking.
Green Bay was able to dictact the pace of the game taking advantage of two huge interceptions of Niel Brady.
"Those picks killed us, what was Tom O'Donnell thinking out there today" After his second pick was returned for a TD, coach Rawn Dawg pulled him of the field by pads and pointed to Big John. Booty came in, dropped back, fired a bullet to Steve Smith, and came up lame after his first play. Brady would have to come back out after being benched. Tom would engineer a hell of a drive hitting Beckum at the pylon setting up a Maroney TD to close the gap to six with over a quarter to play. What was really interesting is while Maroney was going in for the score. Coach Dawg and Brady were in an arguement over Booty being sent back out to replace Brady for the second time. "Toms going to have to get over it, John is just outplaying him right now, and has been the last 7 months or so. John David will be our starting QB going forward." coach Dawg said in the postgame conference." Tom did run out and give John a chest bump as the final TD was scored at the end. Its a tough situation for him, one he has never been in, but one that has been looking over his shoulder for the past season and a half.
BOOTY TIME, as Al Bundy used to sing!
